Grand Central Hotel Officially Opens In Belfast
Northern Ireland's newest hotel has officially opened its doors.
The former Windsor House has been transformed into a 23-storey tower which has been named the Grand Central Hotel Belfast.
The project from Hastings Hotels cost a total of £53 million.
Stephen Muldrum, General Manger of the hotel, said: "We are delighted to open the doors of the Grand Central Hotel and see the vision of our late Chairman, Sir William Hastings, be fully recognised. The Grand Central Hotel is a really unique proposition for Belfast.
"No detail has been overlooked and we are excited to bring a new era to the city. The teams have been working hard over recent weeks to get the hotel open on time and we are looking forward to welcoming our first guests from the prestigious Hosts Global Forum who are staying with us this week."
The hotel features a a ground floor café, a restaurant and a small plates cocktail lounge on the 23rd floor.

Northern Ireland's Infrastructure Minister, John O'Dowd, has welcomed "a new era for public transport" as he officially opens the largest transport hub on the island of Ireland, Belfast's Grand Central Station. Bus stands at the new world class transport hub become operational this week in the first phase of opening.

Health Minister Robin Swann has published an open letter, making a personal plea to people who have not yet taken up the Covid-19 vaccination, urging people not to: "Please don't put off your turn. The right time is now." Stating that "vaccination opens doors to normality", Minister Swann said: "Vaccination helps us reclaim our lives.
