Pedestrian And Driver Hit By Car During Police Chase
Two people are being treated in hospital after being injured by a car involved in a police chase across Belfast.
A female pedestrian was struck by a car as it was being pursued by police on Clifton Street in the north of Belfast at around 3.30pm on Thursday, 26 July.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene. It is understood that the pursing PSNI officers gave up the chase and went to the aid of the injured woman.
A second PSNI vehicle took up the pursuit which continued on towards east Belfast. The suspect vehicle subsequently collided with another vehicle on the Newtownards Road. The female driver of the second car was also tended to by police.
Both women are being treated in hospital for what has been described as "non-life threatening injuries".
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland has been informed.

Three police officers have been injured after a car they were following crashed in west Belfast. Two police vehicles were also damaged. Police were following a car, with three men inside, that was reported to have been involved in a robbery at a shop on the Lockview Road in south Belfast at around 8pm on Sunday.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast. The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on. They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.

Two charged over M1 car chase
Two men are to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today in connection with a high-speed car chase in which four police officers were hurt. The incident occurred at 2am on Sunday morning when police pursued a vehicle which had allegedly been stolen in Loughgall, Co Armagh. During the chase four police officers were hurt and two arrests made.
