Call For Applications For Knowledge Transfer Partnership
Invest NI have announced an open call for applications for their Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme from local businesses looking to supercharge their research and development (R&D) projects.
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership is a three-way partnership between a business, an academic institution (university or college) and a recently qualified graduate, in which all three benefit.
The scheme places a graduate within the business for a period of time to facilitate the transfer of knowledge. The graduate uses their skills and academic expertise to deliver an innovative project that would help boost competitiveness, productivity and profitability of the business.
The partnership scheme is specifically suited to those businesses who:
• have ambitions to grow, improve productivity and increase competitiveness
• have a project in mind that would help improve an area of their business
• need access to knowledge and understanding not currently available in-house
• have a willingness to collaborate with an academic institution and employ a graduate with specific responsibility for implementing the project
In addition to embedding expertise and expanding the capability of your business, a KTP will drive competitive advantage through accelerated innovation practices.
The programme will enable your business to:
• gain privileged and cost-effective access to the UK's world-class knowledge base and resources
• increase revenue through access to new markets and new product development
• improve profits through efficiency gains, increased productivity and better processes
• benefit from the strategic input of a highly experienced Knowledge Transfer Adviser
If you have a project in mind, you should first contact a KTP adviser to discuss eligibility and go over the application process. You can contact Nicola Doherty on Tel 028 9069 8199 or email nicola.doherty@investni.com.
The current open call closes on 19 September 2018. Further open calls will be available throughout 2018-19.
