NI business airline to take flight in March

A locally-owned scheduled airline for Northern Ireland is set to be launched in March.

Primeflight, the trading name of Flightexcel, will fly directly to Brussels twice a day from Belfast International Airport. The first scheduled service to Brussels National Airport will start on March, with flights to further European destinations planned for later in the year. If the service proves successful, flights to Zurich, Geneva and Frankfurt could follow.

The company has a seven seater service, the Piaggio P180, which is aimed at business travelers who want to avoid changing planes when flying to Europe

At both Belfast International Airport and Brussels National Airport, Primeflight will offer customers fast track check-in and access to a business lounge.

Giles Atkinson, Managing Director of the airline, said: "With its non-stop scheduled services, Primeflight now offers the Northern Ireland business traveller the opportunity to fly to continental Europe, do a full day’s business and fly back home the same evening, saving both time and money. I am delighted to be heading up this exciting new venture and, with the support of the local business community, we hope to be able to expand our range of destinations in the very near future."

Bookings on Primeflight’s non-stop service to Brussels can be made now via the website www.primeflight.co.uk.
