Queen's Film Theatre Unveils Plans To Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Queen's Film Theatre in Belfast has announced a month of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary milestone.
QFT50 will be celebrated with a number of movies and special events, including exclusive premieres and guests.
The celebrations come just weeks after a £350,000 refurbishment was completed at the cinema.
The cast and crew of 'Derry Girls' will attend a screening of the final two episodes of season one, shortly followed by a Q&A.
Other guests include The Observer's chief film critic Mark Kermode and Irish playwright, screenwriter, film director and film producer, Jim Sheridan.
The celebrations will kick off on 05 October with a preview of 'First Man', a movie starring Ryan Gosling as celebrated astronaut Neil Armstrong.
More than 30 special events will take place across the month, closing with a screening of director Steve McQueen's 'Widows' on 31 October.

Minister Reacts To Teachers' Union Ballot Threat
Education Minister Paul Givan has responded to the announcement by several teachers' unions that they plan to ballot their members for industrial action over 2024/25 pay. Earlier this year, the Minister provided funding to successfully resolve the long-running industrial dispute over teachers' pay for 2021-24.
