Bloody Sunday Victim Awarded Compensation For 'Pain, Injury And Suffering'
Belfast's High Court has awarded Michael Quinn compensation of £193,000 for injuries he sustained on Bloody Sunday.
On Sunday, 30 January, 1972, Mr Quinn suffered a gunshot wound to the face when members of the Army's Parachute Regiment opened fire on civil rights demonstrators.
Mr Quinn, who was 17 at the time, suffered a shattered cheekbone and nerve damage to his lip and eyelid.
In total, 14 people died as a result of the Army's actions.
According to reports, in making the award, the judge said that the compensation payment was for Mr Quinn's "pain, suffering, and injury".

A woman and her son have escaped injury following a shooting attack in Co Armagh. Shots were fired at a property in the Cloghoge Road area of Cullyhanna on Wednesday, 21 February. Windows were broken in the living room, kitchen and sitting room areas. The woman and child were inside the property at the time of the attack.
