Theresa May Defends Secretary Of State
Prime Minister Theresa May has spoke out in defence of Secretary of State Karen Bradley following her comments on Northern Ireland politics.
In an interview with the Westminster's The House magazine earlier this month Mrs Bradley admitted that she was unaware that unionists and nationalists did not vote for each other.
"I didn't understand things like when elections are fought, for example, in Northern Ireland – people who are nationalists don't vote for unionist parties and vice versa. So, the parties fight for election within their own community," she said.
Mrs May insisted Bradley has been doing "an excellent job".
Speaking to the BBC, Mrs May added: "Of course I am disappointed that we still don't have the Executive up and running and the assembly running as it should be. But every effort is being made to do this.
"Karen is also obviously taking on board the need to ensure decisions will be able to be made by the civil service in NI while there is no executive in place."

Road users are advised to plan for potential traffic delays in the south Belfast area on Friday, 15th November due to the UEFA Nations League football match between Northern Ireland and Belarus. The match will take place at Windsor Park, kicking off at 7.45pm, and it is expected that around 18,000 supporters will attend.
