Big Screen Debut For NI Film Grace And Goliath
Northern Ireland's acting talent has been showcased in Cinemagic's latest production Grace and Goliath that was shot in various Northern Ireland locations.
The movie tells the story of Hollywood bigshot Josh Jenkins who is left penniless in Belfast after a failed acting attempt. His giant ego is challenged by a succession of characters, including a little girl named Grace played by Savanna Burney Keatings.
Veteran actor Olivia Nash, famous for her role as 'Ma' in Give My Head Peace, plays Lily, the grandmother of Grace.
Speaking about the film to ITV, Olivia said: "It's very emotional, and the lovely thing about it was the talent who worked on it.
"I wonder how many will be famous writers directors and actors because of the opportunity they've had from Cinemagic?"
Grace and Goliath premiered last night at the 29th Cinemagic Film Festival in Belfast. Other cast members include young Banbridge actor Isaac Heslip who plays Billy Robert, and is known for other roles in My Mother and Game of Thrones.
Isaac said: "I think this film really shows the power of the people when they come together to help one and another. It shows how precious life can be and how your circumstances can change in an instant."
Under the guidance of director Tony Mitchell, 48 young aspiring film-makers were given the invaluable experience of working on their first feature film.
The movie was shot in Belfast and on the north coast, and features well known locations such as The Europe Hotel, Windsor Park Football Stadium and Barry's Amusements in Portrush.
The film goes on general release this Friday, 05 October and will play at cinema's across NI, including: Omniplex Banbridge; Omniplex Craigavon; Omniplex Dundonald; Omniplex Lisburn; Omniplex Omagh; IMC Ballymena; IMC Enniskillen; IMC Omagh; IMC Banbridge; IMC Newtownards; Movie House City Side; Movie House Dublin Road; Movie House Glengormley; Movie House Coleraine and Odyssey Belfast.

Derry's Nerve Centre wins top animation award
A short animated film produced by the Nerve Centre in Derry has won the top animation award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. 'Pullin the Devil by the Tail' won the McLaren Award For New British Animation, seeing off competition from over 30 animated films.
