'Shock And Disgust' At Racist Hate Crime In Bangor
A County Down family were targeted in a racist attack on Tuesday, 03 October, that has been condemned by Alliance councillor Karen Douglas as having no place in society.
A house in Bangor's Primacy Park was the target with three windows broken and racist graffiti sprayed on the walls.
Councillor Karen Douglas branded the incident a "disgusting" crime that she believes the vast majority of people will rightly condemn.
"I am relieved to hear no-one was at home at the time of this attack, but this still must have been a distressing incident for the residents of the property," she said.
"There can be no tolerance in our society for such blatant intimidation and racist views. Bangor is a welcoming place where the population deplore this sort of behaviour, so this is truly not reflective of the town."
Police are treating the attack as a hate crime and are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
