Maghaberry Inmate Dies In Custody
A prisoner in Maghaberry has died in custody, the Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) has confirmed.
The 28-year-old man died in hospital on Tuesday, 11 December. His next of kin have been informed.
Investigations into the death have been launched by the PSNI, Coroner and the Prisoner Ombudsman.
Ronnie Armour, Director General of the NIPS, said: "I would like to extend my sympathy and that of the Northern Ireland Prison Service to the family of the prisoner."

A 33-year-old prisoner in Maghaberry has died, according to the Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS). The man passed away in hospital on Monday, 09 July. The PSNI, Coroner and the NIPS have launched investigations into the death.

A 53-year-old has reportedly died in custody at Maghaberry Prison, the Northern Ireland Prison Service has announced. The Department of Justice has reported that the prisoner died on Saturday 28 August, that his next of kin have been informed and that the death was not covid related.
