Arrest After Discovery Of Armagh Cannabis Factory Worth £12K

A man has been arrested following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Darkley, County Armagh.

Cannabis plants with an estimated value in excess of £12,000 were seized by officers during a planned PSNI search at a property on Main Street on Monday 17 December.

Cultivation equipment was also seized in the raid.

The 27-year-old man remains in police custody at this time.

Hundreds Left Without Power As NI Battered By Strong Winds

Hundreds of properties across Northern Ireland were left without power this morning, Tuesday 18 December, after a night of strong gales.

A yellow weather warning was in place until 9am, along with a flood warning for homes and businesses in coastal parts.

The greater Belfast area is believed to be the worst affected by the power cuts, with issues stretching to Newry and Magherafelt.

Northern Ireland Electricity was working to restore power to all affected premises throughout the region.

County Antrim Shield Semi-Final Postponed For A Second Time

The semi-final of the County Antrim Shield between Ballymena United and Linfield has been postponed for a second time due to adverse weather conditions.

The game was set to go ahead on Tuesday evening, 18 December, at the Ballymena Showgrounds but was called off following a pitch inspection.

It had originally been scheduled for Tuesday 27 November but was postponed after heavy rain left the Warden pitch waterlogged.

Ballymena's Premiership game against Institute on Saturday 15 December was also postponed following more rain, and the pitch remains unplayable.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In L'Derry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a serious arson attack in the Clon Dara area of L'Derry on Saturday, 23 November. Shortly before 8.20pm, police received a report that an accelerant had been used to ignite the front door and letterbox of a house in the area.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Police Appeal Following Burglary In Ahoghill
Detectives are appealing for information following a report of a burglary in Ahoghill on Tuesday, 12th November. Police received a report that the back door of a house on the Ballymena Road was forced open shortly before 6pm.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.
