Young Children Narrowly Escape Injury In Newtownards Attacks
Young children have narrowly escaped injury after several homes and vehicles were targeted by the UDA in County Down.
Police released details of a spate of attacks in Newtownards on the night of Wednesday 02 January, which they believe members of the South East Antrim UDA are responsible for.
In one incident, large bricks were thrown through a front living room window, landing on the occupants furniture and narrowly missing young children.
"Had they been less fortunate glass and bricks would have landed in a pram with a young baby," a spokesperson for PSNI Ards said on its Facebook page.
"These criminals skulk about in the hours of darkness terrorising local communities under the banner of South East Antrim UDA, they do this to control communities not help them.
"They may well give their own warped explanation of why these attacks take place but I’m not sure what they achieve by terrorising children and babies in the sanctuary of their own home."
Police have appealed to anyone with information to "fight back" against paramilitary organisations by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or getting in touch via the police non-emergency line by calling 101.
Officers are also taking information submitted via private message to the Facebook page.
"Only by the community speaking out against these criminals will you help the fight against them," the appeal continued.
"Paramilitaries don't protect you, they control you."

Masked Gang Attack Mum In L'Derry
Masked men have attacked a woman with a hammer while ransacking her home in L'Derry on Thursday night. Three young children were inside the Bloomfield Park house, in the Galliagh area of the city, when the incident occurred at around 10.45pm on 26 September.
