Pedestrian Hospitalised After Being Struck By Taxi

A man has been hospitalised after he was knocked down by a taxi in east Belfast this morning, 11 February.

Police are probing the incident which happened on Castlereagh Street just before 9am and led to the man in his 20's suffering injuries to his head and hip.

Officers attended the scene along with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Inspector Sayer issued an appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who captured it on dash cam, to get in touch using the non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 229 of 11/02/19.

Police are appealing for information to help trace missing man Patrick Pearce Deery. The 42-year-old was last seen on Saturday, 03 June. He is described as being 5 ft 8 in tall and of medium build. It is believed he may have travelled to the Sligo area. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Police are appealing for information to help trace missing man John Hutton. Mr Hutton was last seen in the Donegal Street area of Belfast at around 8.45pm on Friday, 19 May. He was last seen swearing a black coat, blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He also speaks with a Scottish accent.

Appeal Issued For Taxi Driver Who Helped Assault Victim In L'Derry
Police in Co L'Derry are appealing for a taxi driver who helped the victim of a serious attack to contact them. The assault happened in the Chapel Road area between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, 30 December. Three men attacked the victim and he sustained life changing injuries to his face, head and ribs. It is believed a hatchet may have been used.

Man Hospitalised After North Belfast Shooting
A man has been hospitalised following a shooting in north Belfast. Police are probing the paramilitary style incident in the Ardoyne area last night, Wednesday 21 August. The victim, a man in his forties, was shot in both legs. He is believed to be in stable condition today.
