Firefighters Tackle Blazes At Two NI Bars
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) was tasked to two separate pub fires in the early hours of Monday morning, 04 March.
Thirty firefighters and four appliances dealt with a large blaze at a bar in Armagh. An aerial appliance and a command support unit were also deployed to the scene at the Northern Bar in Railway Street, after a "well-developed fire" was reported shortly before 8am.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out following an arson attack at a bar in Bushmills, County Antrim.
Army bomb exports were called to Main Street shortly after 3am. It was reported that two men smashed a window in the Scotch House bar and poured flammable liquid inside before setting it alight.
The street was closed for a time but has since reopened.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.
