Local Firms Invited To Free Website Masterclass
Businesses local to the Antrim and Newtownabbey area are being encouraged to make use of a free 'Improve your Website' event next month.
Held on Wednesday 01 May in Mossley Mill, attendees will be taught how to implement the key components of good website governance to improve an old or existing website.
It is expected to be highly interactive, with entrepreneurs instructed to bring laptops or tablets in order to undertake actions there and then. The workshop will offer a step-by-step guide on:
• Adding Google Analytics to a website.
• Linking to a Google Search Console.
• Implementing basic search engine optimisation elements such as titles, tags, descriptions etc.
• Listing the website/ business on Google My Business.
• Optimising website links on social media channels.
The event is open to all business in the area and includes breakfast. It is free to attend, but places must be booked in advance by calling 028 9034 0434 or emailing events@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk.

A Newry and Dundalk based Chartered Accountancy firm, FPM, has won an award from the Association of On-Line Accountants for its website. The FPM website at www.fpmca.com has become the first accountancy website in Ireland to be accredited by the Association of On-Line Accountants.

Cybercrime Website For Businesses Launches
The PSNI have today launched a new website allowing businesses to report cybercrime. The site, psni.police.uk, is solely for the business community and is accessible via a link on the website. Business users will be directed from the cybercrime icon to an online reporting facility where they can provide details of an incident or their concerns.

Businesses urged to beware of website mailshot
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment’s Trading Standards Service has warned Northern Ireland businesses to double-check invoices and carefully scrutinise mailshots. The warning was issued following calls from local businesses who have received unsolicited correspondence from a company called Central Web Pages Register Ltd (CWP).

Finance Minister Brings Google To Belfast
Finance Minister Simon Hamilton MLA has helped to bring Google to Belfast to help small businesses grow their online presence. The Minister will host a Google 'Juice Bar' event today, Wednesday 26th November, at Ulster University Business School in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
