Four Charged With Drugs Offences In Paramilitary Crackdown

Four men have been arrested and charged by officers from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force.

Two 34-year-olds and one 28 and 27-year-old were apprehended after three searches in the Kilcooley area of Bangor yesterday, Tuesday 23 April.

It comes as part of an operation into the criminal activities of the East Belfast UDA.

A quantity of Class B drugs worth an estimated £2000 and a sum of cash were also seized.

Two of the men, aged 34 and 27, were charged with being concerned in the supply of class B drugs. The other two men, aged 34 and 28, were charged in relation to possession of a class B drug with intent to supply, possession of a class B drug and possession of criminal property.

All are due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on Thursday 16 May 2019.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS, as is normal procedure.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland, HM Revenue & Customs and the National Crime Agency established the Paramilitary Crime Task Force to tackle criminality linked to paramilitarism as part of the Executive's action plan on tackling paramilitary activity, criminality and organised crime.

Four Charged With Drugs Offences
Four people have been charged with class A drugs offences following arrests made on Friday (30 August). Two men, aged 54 and 20, and a 42-year-old woman who are all from Liverpool, and a 35-year-old man from Antrim have been charged with the possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Two Men Charged After Drugs Seized In L'Derry
Two people have been charged after drugs were found during searches in L'Derry. A quantity of suspected class B drugs, as well as cash and other items, were seized during a search in the Waterside area on Tuesday, 22 August. Suspected class A and class B drugs were also seized following a search in the Cityside area.
