Person Rescued From River Foyle
A search and rescue team based in L'Derry has thanked members of the public after a person was rescued from the River Foyle.
The operation was sparked after reports of an individual entering the water in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 18 June. A member of the public is believed to have deployed a life ring and contacted the PSNI.
Foyle Search & Rescue teams and boat crews arrived on the scene within minutes and carried out a successful rescue operation.
Following treatment for cold water shock and early onset hypothermia, the patient was transferred to hospital by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for the search and rescue team commended the members of the public who deployed a life ring and reported the sighting to the PSNI.

Pathway Fund Applications Open For Early Years Providers
Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.

PSNI Save Man In Foyle As Lagan Missing Still Sought
While the emergency services are today searching part of the River Lagan in Belfast for a man believed to have fallen in overnight, an 18-year-old man has been successfully rescued from the River Foyle in Londonderry. Police were called to Queen's Quay following reports that a man was in the water at about 2.15am on Monday.
