Ian Paisley Faces Fresh Holiday Backlash

Sinn Fein has said the DUP has serious questions to answer amid fresh revelations about holidays taken by north Antrim MP Ian Paisley.

A BBC Spotlight investigation highlighted a number of holidays the politician took to the Maldives, one of which was reportedly paid for by a former government minister.

In the wake of the Democratic Unionist MP's 30 day suspension last year for failing to declare two family holidays paid for by the Sri Lankan government, the party is facing questions.

Sinn Fein MP Michelle Gildernew commented: "Previously the DUP said it was carrying out an internal investigation into Ian Paisley's luxury holidays but six months on there have been no answers, outcome or conclusion.

"The DUP and Ian Paisley cannot continue to treat the public like fools."
