Advice Issued Amid Reports Of Spiked Drinks
The PSNI has advised members of the public to remain vigilant while on nights out amid reports of drink spiking.
Several reports concerning the crime have been lodged in recent weeks, according to an officer for PSNI Bangor.
"As with all suspected crimes we encourage you to report any cases where you think that a substance has been put into your drink," the officer said.
"We also ask that you exercise caution if in pubs and clubs - do not leave your drink unattended."
Police are providing bottle toppers which can be put inside the neck of bottles to protect against the crime. They show up in UV lights and create a seal to prevent pills and substances being slipped into drinks.
Anyone concerned about the crime or with information can contact police using non-emergency line 101.
Appeal Over Attempted Vehicle Theft
Police are appealing for information regarding an attempted vehicle theft in Hollywood, County Down.
A vehicle was targeted while parked in The Esplanade at around 7.30pm yesterday evening, Wednesday 17 July.
"Were you in this vicinity? Did you see anything suspicious?" an officer urged.
Anyone with details is asked to call 101 quoting reference 2083 of 17/07/2019.
Step Forward For Plans To Transform Antrim Village
Plans to revitalise the County Antrim village of Glynn have taken a major step forward.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has recently purchased land to facilitate the project, which will also see the village's iconic bridge restored.
Welcoming the new land acquisition, Cllr Gregg McKeen, Chair of Council's Borough Growth Committee, said: "This is fantastic news and will be universally welcomed by the Glynn community and those in the surrounding area.
"This has been something the local community has been campaigning for, for years and I am delighted we can now move forward and unleash the potential of what is a real hidden gem in our borough.
"The bridge has been an integral part of the village for generations and it is fantastic that substantial remedial works can now be carried out which will open up access to and from a community park."
As well as restoring the structure, the Council will work to deliver a laneway to give access to churchgoers.

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
