Met Office Issues Warning For Heavy Showers
Heavy showers are expected in eastern parts of Northern Ireland this evening as a Met Office warning takes affect.
The yellow alert covering mainly counties Antrim and Down will be in place between 4pm and 11pm on Tuesday evening.
Bus and car journeys may be delayed in some areas due to spray or flooding on the roads.
Businesses or homes in exposed areas may also experience flooding.
Caravan Security Advice Issued Amid Summer Season
The PSNI has issued advice to help caravan owners protect themselves against crime this season.
Many people pack up the car and head to their home away from home on weekends and school holidays, however busy caravan parks can also attract would-be thieves, with mobile homes perceived as more vulnerable than houses.
The following practical steps should reduce your chance of becoming a victim of crime:
• Always close doors, windows and any skylights whenever you leave your caravan, even if it's only for a short time. Always lock your caravan and take the keys with you.
• Take all your valuables with you when you leave the caravan or at least put them away from sight.
• Leave your curtains open so possible intruders can see there are no valuables lying about. Site security can also check out your caravan easily. Even open cupboard doors can help deter a thief.
• Have a reliable alarm fitted and turn it on when you leave your caravan.
• Use security markings- where possible, valuable items such as laptops and televisions should be marked with your postcode and house number using a UV marker. This helps police identify the owner of the recovered property.
• Keep your shed in good condition and fit a good close shackle padlock to the door. Valuables inside should also be marked with your postcode. Think about chaining larger items such as bicycles together when they are not being used- it is much more difficult for a thief to carry away lots of large heavy items.
• Get to know your neighbours- Keep an eye on each other's caravans when they are vacant. Don't be afraid to report anything suspicious to the site manager or the PSNI immediately.
If you notice anything untoward in your caravan park, note down any important details such as a description or vehicle registration and contact police immediately on 999.
Road Works Announced In Armagh Town
Resurfacing work is set to take place in the County Armagh town of Newtownhamilton, starting next month.
The £355,000 scheme will involve resurfacing a 2km section of the A25 Blaney Road from Mullaghduff Road to a point 190 metres east of Tullyvallan Hall Road.
Work will begin on Monday 05 August and run until Friday 20 September.
The Department of Infrastructure will be implementing a daily weekday road closure between 8am and 6pm to facilitate the work.
A diversion will be in place via Blaney Road, Dundalk Street, Keady Road, Darkley Road, Castleblaney Road, R181, R182, Blaney Road and vice versa.
Drivers are urged to leave additional time when planning any journeys in the area.

Local roads get record £80m spend
A record £80 million will be spent on structural roads maintenance this year across Northern Ireland. The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Mr McCourt said: "This is a huge increase in investment over previous years.
