Idox To Takeover Co Down Software Firm

County Down software company Tascomi Ltd. is to be acquired by Idox Plc in a £7.15 million deal.

Based in Hillsborough, Tascomi provides web-based software products to Local Authorities and Government departments across the UK and Ireland. Throughout its 13 years of training it has developed an innovative portfolio, including solutions for planning, building control, land charges, environmental health, trading standards and licensing. The firm employs around 30 staff.

The acquisition is expected to assist Idox and Tascmoi in establishing a reliable business model to drive great value from the assets they already have in their business.

Roisin Murray, Programme Director at Tascomi, commented: "With our innovative cloud-based software, Tascomi have been growing exponentially in recent years. We are proud that the potential of both our products and people has been recognised by Idox plc and look forward to the positive impact their market leading position can make to our future as a group."

The takeover was welcomed by the Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's Development Committee for its expected benefits to the local community.

Alderman Allan Ewart said: "Tascomi's forward thinking attitude and ambition to grow is evident by the news of this planned acquisition. It is a great opportunity for both companies to accelerate growth and presence in the Regulatory Services marketplace; which in turn will benefit their existing and future clients as well as the local economy. I wish them every success on this new venture."
