Pair Bailed Over INLA Drug Finds
Police have arrested and bailed two people after controlled drugs were recovered during two searches targeting the INLA.
Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force seized a significant quantity of suspected class A controlled drugs during a search of a property in the Markets area on Wednesday 21 August.
A 32-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and later released on police bail.
The raid followed an earlier search in south Belfast on Monday 12 August in which a further quantity of suspected controlled drugs were found.
A 39-year-old male was arrested and interviewed for possession with intent to supply class A and class B controlled drugs. He remains on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Cummings said: "These searches targeting the criminal activities of the INLA evidence our continuing commitment to tackling the harm caused by paramilitaries, including the harm they are causing by supplying drugs in our community.
"Police will continue to work as part of the community to end the harm caused by paramilitaries and drugs."
