Appeal Over 'Despicable' Omagh Burglary
Police have appealed for information following a 'despicable' burglary in Omagh, County Tyrone.
A resident of a house in Orchard Terrace was awoken when an intruder entered his bedroom before making off on foot at around 10.50am on Monday 09 September.
A PSNI officer condemned the incident in a post on Facebook, writing: "This was a despicable crime. Everyone should be able to feel safe in their homes - it should be a place of sanctuary. No one should be allowed to take this from anyone."
Police have appealed to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area, including any strange vehicles or persons, to get in touch with detectives in Omagh on the non-emergency 101 number quoting CC1975 4/9/19.
"That piece of information that you have could play a vital part in bringing the perpetrator before the courts," the spokesperson said.
Details can also be provided in confidence by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. Appeal For Information On 'Nasty' Robbery In Omagh
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a "nasty" robbery in Omagh. Police received a report, that at around 1.30am on Monday, 19th February a man aged in his in his 40s was cycling in the Cranny Road area of the town, alongside the river, when he was set upon by a group of six people, dressed in dark clothing with hoods up.

At around 10pm on Saturday 06 May, police received a report of a hijacking in which three masked men held the driver of a silver-coloured Volkswagen Golf at gunpoint on the Fireagh Road, just off the Dromore Road.

Ministers have paid tribute to the families of Omagh bomb victims, as a commemoration service was held to mark the 25th anniversary. A total of 29 people were killed by the Real IRA bomb on August 15, 1998, the biggest single loss of life in the Troubles.
