Suspicious Object Sparks Alert In Castlewellan
A police operation is ongoing in Castlewellan, County Down, following the discovery of a suspicious object.
A cordon is in place and part of the Ardnabannon and Castlewellan Roads have been closed to the public while police work to make the area safe.
The object was discovered in the Priests Road area of the town on Wednesday evening, 18 September.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes for their journey.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Hard-Hitting Road Safety Message Delivered To Young People
Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.
