Residents Return To Flood Hit Homes In Co Tyrone
Evacuated residents in the County Tyrone village of Sion Mills have been allowed to return home after severe flooding.
A multi-agency response, including 60 firefighters, responded to flood-related calls over the weekend. Several roads in and around the village were closed off and a number of residents evacuated.
It is understood that between eight and 10 inches of water had gathered in the area, with some deeper localised patches.
Police said on Sunday evening, 22 September, that all roads had been reopened and local residents returned to their homes.
A spokesperson added: "We want to thank the community and wider public for their co-operation as emergency services responded tonight to keep people safe."

DAERA Minister Confirms Commitment to Deposit Return Scheme
DAERA Minister Andrew Muir has reaffirmed his commitment to introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Northern Ireland. The DRS is designed to encourage recycling by offering a monetary incentive for returning single-use drinks containers. The scheme will cover PET plastic, steel, and aluminium containers ranging from 150ml to 3 litres.

Hundreds Of New Homes To Be Developed In Co Down
Approximately 50 construction jobs are to be created as part of a £50million project to develop 900 new homes in Comber, Co Down. Northern Ireland homebuilders Hagan Homes has started construction work on the first phase of the 'Enler Village' site on the Newtownards Road, which includes the development of 17 new homes.

Orange Order Agrees To Nationalist Talks
The Orange Order has agreed to engage in talks with a nationalist residents group in north Belfast, following an appeal by a unionist residents group. The Twaddell and Woodvale Residents Association asked local Orange lodges to speak to the Crumlin and Ardoyne Residents Association to find a way to help the 12th of July parades pass off peacefully.

Residents have returned to their homes following a security alert in north Belfast. A suspicious object was discovered at the junction of North Queen Street and Brougham Street on Tuesday, however it was found to be 'nothing untoward'. Army bomb experts examined the object on Tuesday evening.

The alert started at around 10.35pm on Sunday, 03 June, after a suspicious object was discovered the the garden of a house in Fergleen Park in the Galliagh area. Army bomb experts attended the scene and the object was made safe by a controlled explosion.
