Co Armagh Man Due In Court Over Trailer Deaths
A lorry driver from Northern Ireland is due in court on Monday charged with the manslaughter of 39 people who were found dead in a trailer in Essex last week.
25 year-old Maurice Robinson from Laurelvale, a rural village outside Portadown, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, conspiracy to traffic people, conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and money laundering.
The Co Armagh man was arrested last Wednesday, 16 October after the bodies of 31 men and eight women were discovered in the back of a refrigerated trailer in an industrial park in Grays, Essex.
A 46 year-old man from Northern Ireland was also arrested at Stansted Airport on Friday and questioned on suspicion of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people.
He has since been released on bail until 13 November, along with a 38 year-old man and a 38 year-old woman from Warrington who were detained in Cheshire.
While Essex Police continue their investigation, work to identify the 39 victims is ongoing. All 39 of the deceased have been transported to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford as police use the INTERPOL Disaster Victim Identification Standards.
It's understood Mr Robinson will appear in court via video link.

Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed In Co Down
A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Co Down. The 54-year-old victim was stabbed in the Manor Court area in Moira on Monday. At Belfast Crown Court, Gary Baird, pleaded guilty to killing his wife Susan (60) in an attack at their south Belfast home. Baird was was sentenced to serve seven years, three in custody and four on licence, for manslaughter by way of diminished responsibility.

Two Men Charged After Drugs Seized In L'Derry
Two people have been charged after drugs were found during searches in L'Derry. A quantity of suspected class B drugs, as well as cash and other items, were seized during a search in the Waterside area on Tuesday, 22 August. Suspected class A and class B drugs were also seized following a search in the Cityside area.

At Craigavon Crown Court Paul McKay was sentenced to nine months in custody and nine months on license for attempted sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause or incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

A man shot in the chest by a police officer following an incident in L'Derry has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.The 42-yet-old suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 April, following the shooting in the Celandine Court area on Saturday, 17 April. He is being treated in hospital and is to be questioned by the PSNI in due course.
