Titanic Belfast Launches Search For A Little Star
The search is on for a lucky child to help get Christmas underway at Titanic Belfast.
The festive illuminations will burst into life on Sunday 24 November with the official illumination ceremony followed by an array of activities for families to enjoy.
To kickstart the celebrations, organisers are on the lookout for one lucky child to switch on the lights. Not only will they get to add sparkle to the iconic building but they will be the first to welcome Father Christmas, who will be donning his finest red suit accompanied by his favourite reindeer and sleigh, before heading to the ticketed Magical Christmas Experience along with their parents and siblings.
Titanic Belfast's Chief Executive Judith Owens commented: "Christmas is a truly magical time of year, at Titanic Belfast, our Magical Christmas Experience is all about embracing festive cheer and creating unique memories. This year, we are inviting everyone to join us and celebrate Father Christmas' arrival and to see our magnificent display of lights being switched on at 1pm, followed by festive fun for all the family. Most importantly, we want to add sparkle to someone's Christmas by giving them the opportunity to lead our celebrations. If you know a special child who would be dazzled to start the countdown to Christmas by turning on Titanic Belfast's twinkling lights, visit titanicbelfast.com."
With brass bands, funfair entertainers, spot prizes as well as plenty of seasonal food and drinks, and many places in Titanic Quarter embracing the festive spirit, there is no better place to start the Christmas season.
The public event is to mark the start of Titanic Belfast's Magical Christmas Experience, which runs yearly from 24 November to 23 December where children can step through the Old Curiosity Shop to enter into the Elves' Workshop, join Mrs Claus at her cosy kitchen, hear Christmas tales, enjoy festive games and meet Father Christmas himself.
The launch event and light switch on will run from 12.30-3pm on Sunday 24, with Santa due to arrive at 1pm.
