Four Men Due In Court Over Kevin Lunney Abduction

Four men are to appear in court later today charged with the abduction of Kevin Lunney.

The prominent Co Fermanagh businessman, a director at Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH), was kidnapped near his home in Derrylin and brutally beaten before being dumped by the roadside on 17 September.

A cross-border investigation saw Gardaí arrest four as part of an operation in Dublin and Cavan. Two of the men are aged in their 30s, while another is in his 20s and the fourth in his 60s.

The four men in question will appear in court later today, 26 November, in County Cavan in connection with the incident.

Four dissident republican accused appear in Dublin court
Four men from County Armagh have appeared at Dublin's Special Criminal Court today in connection with membership of "an illegal organisation styling itself the IRA". The four men, ranging from 20 to 50 years of age, were arrested last Friday night by Gardai in County Monaghan. The men were all remanded in custody until November 19.

Judge Slams Murderers Lack Of Remorse
A judge has today concluded that three of the four men he convicted of the brutal sectarian murder of a Catholic schoolboy displayed "no clear evidence of remorse or contrition". Almost three years after his death of 15-year-old Michael McIlveen, four Ballymena men were jailed today for a collective total of 45 years for the murder.
