Ballycastle Community Shocked By Tragic Death
The Co Antrim community of Ballycastle has been left in shock after the death of a swimmer on Monday morning.
Deirdre McShane, a midwife from the area, has been named locally as the woman who lost her life when a group of swimmers got into difficulty off Ballycastle beach.
Another woman was hospitalised after she was pulled from the water.
Speaking about the tragedy, Sinn Fein Councillor Cara McShane, who is related to the casualty, said: "From a family point of view we are shocked and devastated at this awful tragedy.
"The wider community in Ballycastle is also in shock but I want to thank those who tried to help this morning and of course the emergency services for their efforts.
"I have no doubt the people of Ballycastle will rally round and offer support to help through the time ahead."

Local towns awarded £1m to attract investment
Close to £1 million has been awarded to 17 towns across Northern Ireland to help them attract shoppers and investors. The Department for Social Development (DSD) supported project, which totals £862,000, will hope to benefit projects ranging from events and advertising campaigns to schemes to improve the attractiveness of town centres.

Lorry driver appears in court over drugs seizure
A 39-year-old lorry driver, Patrick David McAuley has appeared in court today charged with possession and intent to supply a class B drug. The charge relates to the seizure of 300 kilos of cannabis with an estimated street value of £1.5 million from a lorry at Belfast docks on Thursday.
