Tax Helpline Established Amid Covid-19 Crisis
HMRC has a set up a phone helpline to support businesses and self-employed people concerned about not being able to pay their tax due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Available to any business or self-employed individuals concerned about paying their tax due to coronavirus, the service offers practical help and advice.
Up to 2,000 experienced call handlers are available to support businesses and individuals when needed.
The service is available by calling 0800 0159 559.
For those who are unable to pay due to coronavirus, HMRC will discuss your specific circumstances to explore:
• agreeing an instalment arrangement
• suspending debt collection proceedings
• cancelling penalties and interest where you have administrative difficulties contacting or paying HMRC immediately.
Opening hours for the helpline number are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, and Saturday 8am to 4pm.
The service will not be available on Bank Holidays.

Entrepreneurial spirit thrives in west
Over 900 people attended Invest NI’s Western Start a Business show at the weekend, the agency has revealed. Patricia Devine of Invest NI’s Western Local Office said she was “delighted and very encouraged” by the interest displayed in entrepreneurship during Western Enterprise Week and the Western Start a Business Show in Omagh.

Cryptoassets Users Urged To Check Their Tax Obligations
With use of cryptoassets growing, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is urging people to avoid potential penalties and check if they need to complete a Self Assessment tax return for the 2022 to 2023 tax year. Anyone with cryptoassets should declare any income or gains above the tax-free allowance on a tax return.
