Woman Charged With Murder Of Baby In Belfast

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a baby boy in north Belfast.

The child, who police identified as Liam O'Keefe, was killed in an incident at Brompton Park on Tuesday 27 July. Police arrived at the house shortly after 8pm that evening were two children were found injured. Both were treated urgently by emergency services, but Liam was pronounced dead at the scene. The second child was taken to hospital for further treatment where her condition is described as stable.

The woman will appear before Belfast Magistrate's Court today, Friday 30 July.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
