Antrim Road Closed Following Collision
A section of the Antrim Road in north Belfast has been closed following a single vehicle collision.
According to reports, the collision occurred close the the Tesco near Jubilee Avenue shortly after 1pm today, Wednesday 11 August.
The Antrim Road has closed from Glendore Avenue to Alexandra Park Avenue.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
New Assured Skills Collaborative Welding Academies At North West Regional College
Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has announced the first two of four Assured Skills Collaborative Welding Academies at North West Regional College.
The first two Assured Skills Academies will see 24 successful applicants receive industry-standard welding training during a five-week course at the college's Limavady and Springtown campuses, followed by two-weeks of consolidation training at one of eight engineering companies participating in the Academies.
Participants who complete the Academy are guaranteed an interview for a welding positon at one of the companies.
Highlighting the opportunity, the Minister said: "I am very pleased to announce these Assured Skills Academies in welding at North West Regional College.
"Welding skills are in high demand in our local engineering and manufacturing sector and these Assured Skills Academies will help equip participants with these skills, through an industry-recognised qualification, and position them very strongly to kick-start a new career in welding.
"These Academies at NWRC follow on from a previous successful Collaborative Welding Academy delivered earlier this year and are part of a wider delivery of welding training at further education colleges and companies across Northern Ireland. This collaborative approach will enable as many participants as possible to gain valuable skills and on successful completion receive a Level 2 City & Guilds welding qualification, thus giving them a great opportunity to pursue a rewarding career in the engineering sector."
£220,000 Street Lighting Scheme To Get Underway In Armagh
A £220,000 street lighting scheme in Armagh will get underway on Monday 23 August, Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has announced.
The scheme will see the installation of new street lighting columns and replacement underground cables with new LED lights. The Scheme will extend from the Armagh City Hotel up to the Nursery Road.
Minister Mallon said: "This significant investment will benefit everyone who travels and works in the area. I am committed to addressing the issues which matter most to people and street lighting services are crucial in ensuring those driving, cycling, wheeling and walking can do so safely within their communities.
"This investment provides new LED technology along the A3/A28. It is important that adequate street lighting not only improves the quality of lighting but is more energy efficient given my commitment to climate action.
"I would like to thank the public and local residents in advance for their cooperation and ask that they comply with all temporary traffic restrictions while these much needed works are completed."

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.
