Man Charged With Attempted Murder In West Belfast

A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident in west Belfast on Saturday, 04 September.

A 20-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the head in the Aspen Walk area near Dunmurry.

The man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The victim was taken to hospital and his condition is unknown.

The suspect is to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 06 September.

The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. A man charged with attempted murder has died in custody. 42-year-old James Carlisle, from the Harbour Road in Kilkeel, was due to appear in court next week. It is understood his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Armagh man accused of attempted murder
A 44-year-old Armagh man has appeared in court in connection with two counts of attempted murder. Colm Joseph McGurk, of Lower English Street, appeared before Newry Magistrates’ Court accused of the attempted murder of Patrick and Eisha McGurk on Saturday.
