Taoiseach Micheal Martin To Meet With NI Political Leaders
Taoiseach Micheal Martin is to meet with Northern Ireland's political leaders during a visit to Belfast today, 08 October.
He is expected to discuss the latest political developments and he will speak at an all-island business event jointly hosted by the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Chambers Ireland.
The event will explore the all-island and global challenge of climate change in advance of the Cop26 climate conference.
First Minister Paul Givan and deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill will also attend.
Mr Martin will also visit and meet participants in Women's Tec, an initiative in north Belfast which helps women to train in non-traditional sectors and trades.
He will be meeting with a group of students from the Queen’s University.

PM Believes There Is A Basis For Agreement In NI
Prime Minister Theresa May has said she still believes there is a basis for an agreement to be made to restore power-sharing in Northern Ireland. Mrs May was speaking to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar by phone on Monday, 26 February. The pair were discussing the Brexit negotiations and the current political situation in NI.

Police Seek Extra Time To Question Adams
Police in Northern Ireland are seeking more time to question Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams The Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness confirmed the move. On Friday morning, it was reported that Mr Adams had spent a second night in custody as detectives continued to question him over the abduction and murder of Jean McConville in 1972.
