Man Arrested After Car Driven At Police Officer
A 41-year-old man has been arrested after a car was driven at a police officer in County Antrim.
It is understood that police were dealing with an unrelated matter in the Bridge Street area just before 2am this morning, 09 November, when a BMW car was driven at an officer. The BMW then collided with a police vehicle, before reversing into another police vehicle as it tried to escape.
The officer that was struck by the BMW is said to have suffered injuries to his hand and arm. Four other officers suffered "minor injuries".
The 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and driving with excess alcohol and dangerous driving.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

The House of Lords has renewed the 50/50 recruitment rule for the PSNI by a majority of 44. It puts into practice a recommendation made in 1999 by Lord Patten that the local police force should be split evenly between Catholics and Protestants. The result of the vote was 141 to 97.
