Four Men Arrested In Connection With Bus Hijacking In Newtownards
Four men have been arrested in connection with the hijacking and burning of a bus in Newtownards.
The Translink bus was hijacked and set on fire in the Abbot Drive area on 01 November.
The suspects are currently being questioned by the PSNI.
Furthermore, detectives believe the attack was carried out by a "local faction of the UVF".
Detective Chief Superintendent Ian Saunders said: "We assess that this incident was carried out by members of a local faction of the UVF.
"Our investigation into this disturbing incident continues alongside an investigation into the more recent hijacking and destruction of a bus in Newtownabbey on Sunday 7th November 2021.
"Both of these violent and destructive attacks have had an impact on those people who were directly involved in the incidents and also the wider community.
"I appeal to anyone with information about either incident, particularly anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage which they think may help our investigation, to contact detectives on 101.
"Our visible neighbourhood policing presence will continue in key areas."

Man stabbed in car hijacking
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed during a car hijacking in Co Antrim on Tuesday. The incident occurred at the Kingsway Complex in Dunmurry at around 10pm. The man was getting into his vehicle when he was approached by another man who demanded his keys.

Translink Bus Strike 'Back On' From 17-23 May
The bus strike "is back on", the GMB Union has announced after their members rejected a revised pay offer. The union has said that drivers, cleaners and shunters across the company will walk out for seven days from 17 to 23 May 2022, "causing the entire bus network to grind to a halt".

Bus Catches Fire In Lurgan
An investigation is underway after a bus caught fire just outside of Lurgan, Co Armagh. The incident happened at around 7.45am today, 03 November. Translink has said the Ulsterbus was travelling between Dungannon and Belfast at the time. No-one was injured in the incident and the driver and seven passengers have been transferred onto another bus.

Hijacking incident in County Armagh
Police in County Armagh have appealed for information following a hijacking incident yesterday afternoon. The incident happened on the Lower Foughill Road in Jonesborough at around 2.40pm, when two women who were travelling in a light green coloured BMW, were approached by three males.
