DUP Demands Apology From Bertie Ahern
The DUP has called on former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to apologise for demeaning comments about loyalists and East Belfast.
Ahern is reported to have said that people in east Belfast "and the ghettos and the areas where you are likely to get trouble" shouldn't criticise the Protocol because they don't understand it.
Calling for an apology, East Belfast MP Gavin Robinson, said: "To associate East Belfast with a ghetto and suggest loyalists are not able to understand the Protocol is demeaning and degrading.
"People in my constituency who can't get their Amazon parcels from another part of the United Kingdom well understand the impact of the Protocol.
"Rather than belittling those who oppose the Protocol, Bertie Ahern should seek to understand why not a single elected unionist in Northern Ireland supports the Protocol.
"As a man who was central to the Belfast Agreement being negotiated, Bertie should be honest in recognising that the Protocol does alter Northern Ireland's status within the United Kingdom single market without any consent from people living here. Driving a coach and horses through the Belfast Agreement."

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

SF Won't Stand In Three Constituencies
Sinn Fein has announced it will step aside in three constituencies in next month's General Election, instead urging voters to support other pro-Remain candidates. President Mary Lou McDonald today announced they will not field Westminster candidates in East Belfast, South Belfast and North Down.
