Ballymoney Factory Fire Declared 'Major Incident'
A fire at a former poultry factory in Ballymoney has been declared a major incident with more than 100 firefighters still at the scene.
The fire was first reported at 4.45pm on Monday on the Ballymena Road. 15 pumping appliances and 10 specialist appliances attended the scene of the blaze.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) fought the fire overnight and have said that they expected to remain at the scene for "at least another 24 hours".
Speaking on BBC's Good Morning Ulster programme, NIFRS Group Commander Ryan Thompson said that the firefighting operations were now "contained within the footprint of the building".
He added that they were continuing to call on the public to "stay indoors and to keep windows closed in the immediate area because of the risk of asbestos. Once again, it is still burning in the building."
It is understood that police manning roadblocks in the area are using protective breathing masks due to concern about possible asbestos in the air.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.

Firefighters have rescued three people from a house fire in Cookstown this morning, Thursday 11 April. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) was alerted to the blaze in Millburn Avenue shortly after 7.15am. Four appliances rushed to the scene.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In L'Derry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a serious arson attack in the Clon Dara area of L'Derry on Saturday, 23 November. Shortly before 8.20pm, police received a report that an accelerant had been used to ignite the front door and letterbox of a house in the area.
