Boy charged with teenager's murder
A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court at the weekend charged with the murder of a Belfast teenager.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with the murder of Megan McAlorum on the outskirts of Belfast on Monday 12 April.
The 16-year-old victim was found dead on a desolate stretch of land, half a mile from Dunmurry.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old will appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court today on a charge of withholding information in connection with the murder.
Police, who are still investigating the murder, have appealed for a taxi driver who was seen driving a silver Ford Mondeo car towards the Glen Road between 2am and 4am on the morning of the murder to contact them.
Megan was last seen in a local pub called the Hunting Lodge, and is believed to have left the premises at around midnight. It is thought that she was alone.
Anyone who may have witnessed Megan or knows of her last whereabouts are asked to contact police on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
