Teenager Remanded Over Greengrocer Murder
A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of greengrocer Harry Holland.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was also charged with two counts of threats to kill, two of attempted wounding with intent and two of possessing an offensive weapon.
He appeared before Belfast Youth Court on Monday made no response when he was charged. He was remanded in custody to reappear in court via video link on October 10.
Mr Holland, 65, was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver near his home in Norfolk Drive, west Belfast, as he tried to prevent his delivery van from being stolen last Tuesday night. He died in hospital the following night.

Man remanded over woman's murder
A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with the murder of a woman in west Belfast at the weekend. Kristoph Emmanuel Aluya, originally from Nigeria, but now living in County Carlow, appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court earlier today charged in connection with the murder.

Second Person Charged Over Templepatrick Murder
A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Antrim father of four Geoffrey Kerr. The accused, 50-year-old Martin Thomas Fleming from Churchill Road, Larne, was remanded in custody until later this month. A detective, appearing before Larne Magistrates Court, said he believed he could connect the accused to the charge.

A woman charged with murdering her teenage daughter at their family home in Kilkenny on 26 November 2006 has appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court. Lynn Gibbs, 46, a psychiatrist from Killure, Gowran, County Kilkenny was charged last week with the murder of her 16-year-old daughter Ciara.

Man remanded over brother's murder
A 43-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of his brother. William McMillan, 58, died following a knife attack in the Belvoir area last Friday. He had been stabbed in the back and chest at a flat in Grays Park Drive and later died in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

A 36-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a woman in Co Down on Monday. David Jones, 36, of Lismore Avenue in Bangor appeared before Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with killing Pauline McConnell, 41, whose body was found in a ground floor flat at Lismore Avenue on the Whitehill estate in Bangor.
