Attempted Abduction Of Teenage Girl In East Belfast

Police have issued an appeal for information following the attempted abduction of a teenage girl in East Belfast.

According to police, around 11am on Sunday 13 February, a man in a blue coloured car pulled up alongside a teenage girl as she walked on the Gilnahirk Road.

The man is said to have made a number of attempts to get the girl into his car before a passerby intervened. The teenager was not injured but is said to have been left badly shaken by the incident.

Anyone with any information on the incident, in particular anyone who may have witnessed the attempted abduction, is urged to contact police.

Police appeal after attempted abduction of teenager
Police are appealing for information after a man attempted to abduct a teenager in east Belfast last night. The 16-year-old girl was walking alone along Glenview Road at around 10.20pm last night when she became aware of a red car following her. The driver of the car stopped and ordered the girl to get in, but she was able to run away.

Attempted abduction in County Down
Police in County Down have appealed for information following the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl yesterday evening. The incident happened in the Hill Street area of Ardglass at around 8pm, when a man in a small white coloured five-door car, stopped beside the child and offered her a lift.

Girl, 12, Killed In Newry Beach Buggy Crash
A 12-year-old girl has died in a crash involving a beach buggy in Newry. The girl was travelling on the buggy with another 14-year-old girl when they collided with a pick-up trick at around 2.50pm on the Flagstaff Road in Cloughogue on Saturday, 18 November. The 12-year-old girl died from her injuries.

Three Teenagers Arrested Over Co Antrim Murder
Police investigating the murder of Nelson Cheung in Co Antrim earlier this month have arrested a three teenage girls. Mr Cheung, 65, died after he was stabbed in an attack on the Caddy Road on 8 January. It is understood Mr Cheung and his wife were attacked after their car was forced off the road.
