All DVA Test Centres To Close On 19 September

All Driver Vehicle Agency (DVA) Test Centres will be closed on Monday 19 September, the day of the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

The DVA will directly contact all customers with an appointment for a vehicle or driving test for 19 September to reschedule their tests at the earliest opportunity. Driver Theory Tests will also be suspended and customers will be contacted directly by the service provider with advice on how to rebook their appointment.

Parking Restrictions

Motorists are also advised that all parking restrictions including on-street charging remains in force on Monday 19 September.

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has also announced that on the day there will be no public access to any DfI buildings. In the event of an incident or emergency requiring a DfI response people can use the out of hours contact numbers on NI Direct.

Man Extradited From US Over Historical Child Sex Abuse
A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of indecent assaults on a child in the 1970s. Damien Desmond Anderson, originally from L'Derry, was extradited from the US to face justice. He was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against a female who was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.

Major Drug Bust In Omagh Linked To INLA
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have made a significant drug seizure in Omagh. Officers searched a van in the Doogary Road area on Thursday morning, 21st November, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £750,000.

Police Appeal After Arson Attack In Newtownards
Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.

Police Appeal Following Burglary In Ahoghill
Detectives are appealing for information following a report of a burglary in Ahoghill on Tuesday, 12th November. Police received a report that the back door of a house on the Ballymena Road was forced open shortly before 6pm.
