DoF Announces Closure On 19 Sept
The Department of Finance (DoF) has announced its closure for Monday 19 September, the day of the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Department advises the following:
• Land & Property Services office at Lanyon Plaza, Belfast will be closed.
• The General Register Office for Northern Ireland (GRONI) public counter and search room will be closed.
• The release of Census 2021 statistics planned for Tuesday 20 September has been moved to Thursday 22 September.
Councillors Urged To 'Assert A Public Right Of Way' In East Belfast Dispute
Belfast City Council has called on MLAs to 'assert a public right of way' after a private landowner blocked access to a pathway in East Belfast.
On the path between Orby Green and Orby link, next to the Castlereagh road a developed has installed and fence with a gate, which initially allowed the path to still be used. However, at some point the gate was welded shut, stopping people from using the path.
Council officials have now written to Councillors urging them to vote to assert a public right of way to bring the path back into use.
£400,000 Belfast Roadworks Scheme Announced
A major roadworks scheme has been announced for the A55 Parkway in Belfast, due to get underway on Tuesday 20 September.
The £400,000 scheme, which extends Southbound from Belmont Road roundabout to Holywood Road will be completed under overnight road closures.
The overnight closures will operate as follows:
• Tuesday 20 September between the hours of 0.15 am and 6.00 am.
• Tuesday 20 September, Wednesday 21 September and Thursday 22 September between the hours of 7.00 pm and 6.00 am
• Monday 26 September, Tuesday 27 September, Wednesday 28 September and Thursday 29 September between the hours of 7.00 pm and 6.00am.
During these times a diversionary route will be clearly signed via Hawthornden Way, Upper Newtownards Road, Newtownards Road, Bridge End, Dalton Street, Middlepath Street, Sydenham By-Pass, Belfast Road, Holywood Road and Parkway.
Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to have access to the cycleway and footway however extra care should be taken in the vicinity of the works and some delays may be necessary.
The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public, however road users should allow additional time when planning their journey.

Progress Of NI's Vaccination Programme Welcomed
The Health Minister Robin Swann has welcomed the continued progress in NI's vaccination programme. The Jabbathon student jab initiative continues with walk-in clinics at university and FE college campuses. Vaccines are also to be provided at the Balmoral Show, with a walk-in clinic running every day.
