Police Ombudsman Issues Witness Appeal
The Police Ombudsman’s Office is appealing for witnesses to an incident involving police officers and members of the public in Belfast on Saturday 6 August 2022.
The incident happened close to the junction of Rydalmere Street and the Donegall Road at approximately 7:40pm.
A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen three members of the public being detained by approximately eight to 10 police officers.
"A number of police vehicles and one police van was parked at the junction of Rydalmere Street and Donegal Road at the time. We would be keen to speak with anyone who saw what happened or recorded footage of the incident on their mobile phone.
"If you believe you can help, our witness appeal line is 0800 032 7880."

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

The PSNI have made a 'specific witness appeal' as part of an investigation into an alleged assault in Belfast city centre. An altercation is reported to have occurred inside licensed premises in the Bedford Street area on Sunday, 12th May at approximately 8.30pm.

Woman And Child Knocked Down By Mobility Scooter
Police are seeking a woman on a mobility scooter who struck down a grandmother and a child in Co L'Derry. The incident happened on William Street at around 11.30am on Thursday. It is understood the woman and her grandson, who was in a pushchair, were knocked over as they stood on a footpath.

Police appeal for car accident witness to contact them
Police are appealing for a male cyclist who may have witnessed a road traffic collision in which one person later died to contact them. The victim, aged in his mid-20s, was walking along the Whitewell Road just before 4.30pm on Monday when he was struck by a red VW Vento car. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police appeal for witness into fatal car accident
Police are appealing for a woman who stopped at the scene of a car accident which claimed the lives of three teenagers last Friday to contact them. Michael McManus, 19, Caomh McCarthy, 19, and Stephen Haughey, 17, died when the Peugeot 307 they were travelling in collided with a lorry on the Belfast Road near Newry, shortly after midnight.
