Teenager Charged With Arson Following Belfast Blaze
A teenager has been charged with arson following a blaze in the Cathedral Quarter area of Belfast on Monday, 03 October.
The 18-year-old has been accused of causing arson with intent to endanger life, burglary and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
Emergency services attended the scene after reports of a fire at the Old Cathedral Buildings on Donegall Street at around 5.40am.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives from Musgrave CID have charged an 18-year-old man following a significant fire at the Old Cathedral Buildings in the Church Street area of Belfast, and the burglary of a nearby business premises, during the early hours of Monday, 3rd October.
"The man was charged with arson with intent to endanger life, burglary and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
"As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
"He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 4th October."

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack at a property in Belfast. A rag was put through the door of a house in the York Road area and set alight. Significant damage was caused to the door and the hall. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.

Pair Charged With Arson Over West Belfast Blaze
Detectives investigating a blaze that damaged a row of businesses in west Belfast earlier this month have charged two individuals. The 32 year-old man and 27 year-old woman were detained on suspicion of arson in Lisburn yesterday morning, Thursday 14 November. Both have been charged with arson.
