Investigation Launches Following Arson Attack In L'Derry
Police have launched an investigation after an arson attack at a house in L’Derry.
The attack happened at a property in Bann Drive at around 1.25am on Tuesday, 04 October.
A woman who was inside the house at the time was not injured.
Detective Sergeant Ballentine said: "Just how the fire started remains under examination, however, at this time we are treating this as arson. As we continue with enquiries to establish what happened and a motive, we're appealing to anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area between 1am and 1.25am yesterday to call us.
"This incident could have resulted in serious consequences had it not been for emergency services being contacted so quickly, and we want to take this opportunity to thank the public for their help."

Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.

Appeal For Information On Suspected Arson Attack
The PSNI in Newtownards have issued an appeal for information following a suspected arson attack at a workshop in the town. Eleven vehicles were extensively damaged in a fire at the workshop on the Glenburn Road area, which was reported to emergency service at around 21:45 on Wednesday 01 March.

A woman has had to be treated in hospital after a suspected arson attack in Co L'Derry. The incident happened at a property in the Lower Bennett Street area just after 7am on Wednesday, 16 August. The woman, who was the only occupant in the house, was treated for smoke inhalation.
