Belfast Hilton wins top quality award for UK group
Belfast's Hilton Hotel has been pronounced the best in the Hilton UK group at a glittering awards ceremony in London.
Organised by Hilton hotels UK, the 'Quality Hotel of the Year' award is given to the top hotel in the group which has consistently scored highly in external survey results on mystery customer visits, test calls to reservations and event sales, general customer feedback, employee satisfaction and health and safety.
Patrick Stapleton, Area General Manager of Hilton Northern Ireland said: “We are totally delighted with the result which pays tribute to our hardworking staff who simply enjoy working with the public.
"This is the second year that Hilton in Northern Ireland has won such an award and considering how well-known and respected many of the other hotels are in the Hilton group, this is a real coup for Belfast.”
Welcoming the news, Chief Executive of the Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau, Gerry Lennon said the Hilton’s success was a measure of how Belfast was becoming increasingly recognised for the high quality of its accommodation, conference and leisure facilities.
“This award shows that the standard of customer service in hotels such as the Hilton Belfast is second to none and is indicative of how Belfast is becoming internationally known for the welcome we provide for both business and leisure tourists,” Gerry said.
The success enjoyed by the Hilton comes on the heels of Belfast being voted as the best European city break destination by the Evening Herald and one of the top five cities in the UK in a poll conducted by the Guardian/ Observer.
