Robbers target fast food outlet

Detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a fast food outlet on the Saintfield Road in the early hours of this morning.

At around 12.45am two masked men, one armed with a kitchen knife, the other with a hatchet, entered the premises at Commons Brae.

One of the men jumped over the counter and demanded money from the till before rifling through staff and customers’ belongings. They escaped with a sum of cash and some bank cards.

The two robbers, who are thought to be aged in their late teens, were both of slim build, one around 5’5” in height, the other 5’10”.

Police have appealed for information after the break-in on the Ballynahinch Road, sometime between 7.30am and 12.05pm. Police appeal for information on robbery
Police in Castlereagh are appealing for information regarding a robbery in the Newtown Park area at 8.40pm last night. Two men, one armed with what appeared to be a hand-gun and the other with a sledgehammer, entered a convenience store and forced staff to hand over money. The men escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash.
