18-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Multiple Assaults In Lurgan
An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault of a number of people, including police officers, in Lurgan.
Shortly after 1pm on Tuesday, 16th May, police were called to reports of an ongoing disturbance at a property in the Filbin Crescent area.
When officers arrived, it was alleged the a man had assaulted two women and a man in the property and had also caused damaged to the property.
As police attempted to arrest the suspect, he became aggressive, causing injuries to four officers.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage, resisting police and four counts of assault on police. The man remains in custody at this time, assisting officers with enquiries.
Appealing for information on the incident, Inspector Tate said: "Our investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information that could help is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 898 of 16/05/23."

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.
