Appeal Issued Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Newtownards
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a petrol bomb attack in Newtownards on Saturday 20 May.
At approximately 10.25pm, police received a report that a petrol bomb had been thrown through the back window of a property in the Talbot Street area.
By the time officers had attempted the scene, the fire had already been extinguished.
The PSNI said: "Luckily no one was injured in what can only be described as a reckless attack that could have resulted in more serious consequences.
"This is being treated as arson endangering life with intent and officers are investigating a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the fire.
"Anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious in the area at the time of the fire or anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage that could assist with enquiries is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 2027 of 20/05/23.
"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org/."

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Car Damaged By Petrol Bomb In Lurgan
A car has been damaged after a petrol bomb was thrown in Lurgan, County Armagh. The incident is reported to have occurred in the Boconnell Court area at around 20:30 on Sunday. The device was thrown at the vehicle as it was parked in a driveway, causing fire damage. The PSNI has appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

NIFRS Launches Online Home Fire Safety Check Tool
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an arson attack at a property in the Loughanhill Park area of Coleraine. Shortly after 1.20am on Monday 22nd August, emergency services were called to reports of a fire after a suspected petrol bomb had been thrown at the front of a property.

Sinn Féin Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile has condemned a further petrol bomb attack in the Short Strand area. Police are investigating the incident, which saw four petrol bombs thrown at an east Belfast interface around 10.30pm on Monday night.
